Producer: BET Awards will honor Michael Jackson

I saw the BET Awards. You can tell at times that it was a last minute thing, but I think overall, they did a really great job honoring MJ. Ne-Yo....wow, if he wasn't a superstar before, his performances made him one last night!

Beyonce's performance of Ave Maria made me sleepy and her outfit was unbelievably cheesy.

T-Pain is a fool!!! lol with that huge chain that said "BIG ASS CHAIN."

What was wrong with Drake? Did he hurt his leg or ankle or something?

I loved it when the old guy groups came out. I wish there were more. 3T (Michael Jackson's nephews) could have come out to make a tribute. I loved them.

i loved the awards overall.... i agree beyonce performance was a bore... we enjoy her shakin her ass not singing old white people songs lol.... ciara needed to do an upbeat song as well... shes not the greatest vocalist but she could have done an upbeat michael song and danced her ass off to it..... new edition with bobby.. gotta love it man they did good... oh and neyo and his tribute to the male groups oh when bbd did poison me and my mom and aunts was on our feet!! oh and the ojays tribute!!!!!! good music never dies!!!

Im sorry i think that tribute was a joke. They should have done more then that because MJ was the king of pop, he never half steped and that's what they did last night on the show. Jamie Foxx and Ne-yo did good, but it just should have been more.

I agree. The show was HORRIBLE, damn near unwatchable. And I will say this, when Drake & Wayne performed "I wish I could fluck every girl in the world" and had those girls on there who appeared to be underage dancing on the stage and then had the nerve to dedicate the performance to MJ with all that cursing in it, I had to walk out of the room. WTH? That entire performance was just wrong.

I was really expecting them to do like a special slide show playing an audio of his biography in the background and then having a lot of artist performing his songs back to back. The tribute to the OJay's was better than the one they gave Michael.

They could have left Soulja Boy's performance off and used that time to set aside for Michael. Along with Don C. long a** speech that he gave. I dozed off, woke back up, and he was still talkin. They had to get the OJay's to go up there & cut him off. SMH.

Dude off the baby boy was just too disrespectful, skit or no skit, it wasn't right. "Michael Jackson is guns." R U serious??? Out of everything in the world to say about the greatest entertainer of all time, that's what you say? Then he had the nerve to ask the audience to repeat after him, which they were reluctant to do.

Oh, let me not forget about New Edition's unwatchable and unlistenable opening performance that was dedicated to MJ. Within the first couple of minutes of the show coming on, I wanted to turn it off. They sounded HORRIBLE.

I don't know what BET's producers were thinkin when they throwed that crap together, obviously they were not. I will not watch the re-runs and I'm just pure embarrassed that the white race will probably do a better job of giving him an honorable tribute than our race. Sad, just sad.

Just so I won't sound completely negative, I will say Jamie & Neyo's last performance was nice & Janet's appearance was a HUGE suprise. My heart really felt for her & still do. May MJ RIP.

I disagree with Black.........for the simple fact is it was last minute. They had rehearsed what they were going to do for the awards weeks ago until the death of Michael Jackson. It was last minute and I give them their props for letting go what they rehearsed weeks ago for something that came 3 days before the awards.

Last minute or no last minute it was a bunch of SHIT!!!! It did not HONOR the memory of Michael Jackson music nor his legacy! It was totally a waste of time!

It doesn't take much to get some michael jackson sheet music and rehearse a few MJ songs. Or a VIDEO tribute...C'MON!!!

i agree with lil mamma..... it was 3 days of planning and i think that it turned out ok. was it the best they could do? no but giving 3 days to change line ups, acts, etc i think it was good. they never said it was going to be an entire tribute show to michael, but that it was going to be more so geared towards michael. about wayne and drake performance.... they didnt curse the censors were off throughout the show... they changed the word from "fuck" to "love" and the retarded censors still bleeped them. maybe theyll still do a more put together tribute for michael... idk but i actually enjoyed the show

well I think no one can be as good as Michael Earl but they took there time out of what they rehearsed weeks ago and that counts as something........the get major brownie points for that. How do expect them to get MJ down packed in no less then 3 days....c mon now. Now all that other ish...Beyonce and Monica and all that if it was bad then that's on them that's what they rehearsed for weeks.

It seems that most of the artist these days don't know what ENTERTAINMENT is all about. I honestly can't see how anybody would spend more that $1.23 and 3 now n laters to go see a rapper just walk back and forth across the stage!
