Mackenzie Phillips

Post by Missarcasm on Wed Sep 23, 2009 11:40 am

What do you think about all the "skeletons" Mackenzie is letting out of the closet?

NEW YORK – Mackenzie Phillips says she had a sexual relationship with her father, John Phillips, a member of the '60s Mamas and the Papas band.

People magazine says Phillips writes in her new book, "High on Arrival," that she had sex with her father on the night before she was to get married in 1979.

Phillips starred on TV's "One Day at a Time."

The magazine's Web site says Phillips writes: "I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father."

I agree Earl and she obviously still has issue because to think of having sex with your father as a 'sexual relationship' is in itself indicative of some serious issues...for her and her father....ugh.

She is now defending her father's actions:

I don't know what to believe...

I am having a hard time typing due to having the urge to vomit. She actually refers to this as an 'affair.' When you have an affair with someone, isn't the sex usually consensual? By calling this an incestuous affair, is she saying that the sex was consensual? And now she is defending his actions? Did she enjoy it or something?

It is so weird and my heart goes out to her because she clearly has issues. There is no defense for what he did and she does talk like she was actually in love with him. Where was her mother? What does her mother think? This literally makes my skin crawl. She needs intense psychotherapy.

LMAO @ Earl!

I agree BA and Divine. I believe that she probably did enjoy it. I think the stepmom is defending the father as far as saying he would "NEVER" do something like that and that Mackenzie is messed up due to excessive drug use and using made-up allegations to sell her book. It's strange because in a case of sexual abuse, particularly with a mother/father, a mother in denial would claim that the father couldn't have it in him to sexually traumatize their child. Mackenzie is a very confused individual and some things just don't need to be put out there like that. I believe in being an open book but DAMN!

What I think about it is you just don't know how sick people's minds really are. Just because she and her father was/is a celebrity don't exempt them from the crazy reality of how sick people's mind's really are. An her father manipulated her in to thinking she was in love with her father in all of the wrong reasons for a child to love a parent which ended up damaging her. So I hope she keep her head on straight get the proper help she needs so she can go forward. An realize that everything will be ok.

i saw a bit of it on Oprah...and being that oprah has gone thru teh whole author lying about book thing...oprah told mckenzie that she asked family members ans they confirmed...some didnt want her to put it out and others didnt care. So i think she is telling the truth. i dont think she is a "nasty heffa" i think she is a women with immense issues bc i heard her defending her father and saying she loved him and things of that nature. i on the other hand think she is brave for putting this out...there are going to be those who see it as ewww why would she do that...well...if its a part of her history of being a human being human..her walk and journey of life...why not? this was HER walk...not anyone elses.

Yea I can agree with on this was a hard pill for her to swallow to put this whole thing out there like that. I feel sorry for her. Like I said I hope she can get the help she needs and move on in her life.

I used to watch the show she was on, I forgot the name but they used to show it on Disney. She was some rock musician with her family...I also use to say why does her skin look like that? I thought she was on drugs at the time..the irony...her dad was a rock musician and she used to abuse drugs (which I had not known until I saw her on the oprah show)
